Bill Komoski is showing at Zeihersmith, New York. We discuss Komoski’s work in
Abstract Painting: Concepts and Techniques primarily in terms of the creation of pictorial space within abstraction.
His creations:
… are obscure, but they simultaneously focus on a central image, here a shadowy human form. He builds up multilayered coating of paint, fabric, and collage on a grid, which the artist has called “the most ordered and uniform way of dividing up space, but subjecting it to a degree of decay, erosion and layering… which undermine its inherent stability.”
If you’re in New York you should try to see his work.
